Notice to Visitors - COVID-19 Vaccine - AMC 02/2021

27 May 2021

The Australian Government wants everyone in Australia to have access to a safe, free, COVID-19 vaccine if they choose to be vaccinated. From Tuesday 1 June 2021, Justice Health Services will be offering voluntary Comirnaty (Pfizer) COVID-19 vaccinations to detainees in the Alexander Maconochie Centre.

Vaccinations will occur between 08:30am and 11:30am daily until all vaccines (doses 1 and 2) have been administered to those who wish to receive them. The vaccine will be provided in a number of areas across the AMC including the Hume Health Centre and satellite clinics.

It is anticipated that all first doses will be provided by June 11, however this is subject to change.

The detainees have also been provided with the attached fact sheets with information about the Comirnaty (Pfizer) vaccine.

Anyone released from AMC prior to receiving their second dose will receive information about how to access this in the community.

An update will be provided to visitors on completion of the roll out of the vaccines.

Kind regards
